ATP GmbH, headquartered in Göppingen, is the holding company that coordinates a group of companies in the automotive sector with around 5,000 employees worldwide. ATP received a new administration building for 60 to 80 employees, which in particular enables the project teams to organise their work according to the open office concept.
The classically modern-looking façade of the office building in Göppingen-Ursenwang creates an intensive relationship between the interiors and the lush greenery of the surroundings. The building technology is also innovative and sustainable: fuel cells produce electricity for the company's own needs, an efficient brine/water heat pump provides heating and cooling, and the concrete ceilings are left free for component activation. This creates an ideal place to work for the employees of the globally active company.
In terms of its functionality, spatial structure and architectural aesthetics, the three-storey building takes up references to classical modernism and takes it further in a contemporary way. The façade view is clearly horizontally structured, with white floor ceilings, in between a black mullion-transom façade with horizontal glass formats. This allows a lot of natural light to enter the interior.
The office floors are largely free of walls, which allows the areas to be organised flexibly and openly. The result is a flowing spatial continuum with an impressive generosity. The lush greenery of the outdoor space can be felt almost everywhere, which has a very positive effect on the interior atmosphere and thus on the working atmosphere.
Continuous floors made of high-quality parquet flooring are largely responsible for the character of the office space. The concrete ceilings are left free, making them an important part of the air conditioning system as a storage mass. To optimise the room acoustics, sound-absorbing ceiling sails with integrated lighting are suspended above the workstations.
Hygienic indoor air health is achieved through the principle of room flow, in which the supply air is brought in through floor outlets in the area of the façades and the exhaust air is extracted from the opposite ceiling. Uncontrolled window ventilation, in which a lot of energy is lost, is no longer necessary. The indoor air is completely replaced once an hour.
Energy efficient
With the installed brine-to-water heat pump, which draws the environmental heat energy from the ground, the building is technically well equipped. An efficient gas condensing boiler ensures peak load coverage. In summer, the system can also be used for economical cooling (free cooling). The heat and cold are transferred by underfloor heating.
Although the building draws electricity from the public grid, all safety-relevant devices are operated with their own power supply, which is supplied by a fuel cell device. The entire building automation system is designed for energy efficiency and is switched depending on usage, such as the control of the lighting or the blinds.
