The design of the slim, high wooden house in timber frame construction developed out of the narrow and cramped property situation. The house is located in a grown village structure in Leopoldshafen into which it fits in without any problems, like an archaic-looking barn building.

The floor plans developed out of the narrow, long building volume. An internal, single-flight steel staircase connects the individual floors with each other.

For cost reasons and because of the difficult soil conditions, a basement was dispensed with. For this purpose, storage rooms and cupboard zones were planned in the house. A 60cm wide cabinet zone is deliberately oriented towards the street and thus serves, like a "widened wall", as a buffer to the busy village street.

The façade facing the street is closed, only 4 windows with fixed shading elements almost closed at the bottom (45 degrees) and further open (90 degrees) on the upper floor, illuminate the corridor zone. The openings to the garden are larger. One large and 2 small air spaces serve as "vertical links" between the floors.

The materials used are almost exclusively ecological building materials. Wood fibre insulation boards were used to insulate the roof and the timber frame walls. The façade is pre-patinated with a greying glaze. The flooring consists of simple, oiled oak planks. The staircase is made of raw steel, as a contrast to the railing fillings in perforated aluminium.
