The project Steckengasse 307 was created in a joint venture between the offices Architecture Manuel Benjamin Schachtner and Deppisch Architekten.
The former vacant lot in the historically demanding urban environment was closed with a five-storey building. The new residential and commercial building includes diverse and variable uses on all floors.
Despite the new building, which is over 30 metres deep, daylight reaches the lower floor levels. The inner courtyard traces the old building structures and allows a view of the historic brick masonry of the Salzstadel on all floors and usage units.
The spatial structure enables an inner, spatial connection between the library and the city library located in the Salzstadel. This possible, later connection to the city library allows barrier-free access. The implementation of the historic mezzanine floor, which is typical of Landshut, enabled a very economical use of the entire building structure.
