The residential building, which reinterprets the typology of the surrounding gabled roof houses, gets its striking shape through the parametric adaptation of the form to the context. The floor plan of the house was determined under the condition of two geometric operations: On the one hand, the view of the neighboring building on the lake was to remain unobstructed, and on the other hand, access and parking behind the house were made possible. Like a tent, a cantilevered folding roof covers the extra-high rooms on the upper floor. The ribbon of windows, which develops along the edge of the roof, supports the horizontal structure. 315 vertical wooden slats mounted perpendicular to the wall surface completely envelop the façades. By means of milling, the cross-sections of the slats in the area of the window strip were modulated in such a way that the requirements for privacy and sun protection are met and different, softly flowing degrees of transparency are achieved.
