Open, simple, resource-saving and for people: The new building of the Alnatura working environment
In Darmstadt, Alnatura Arbeitswelt is an architectural milestone in terms of sustainability, material efficiency, openness and modern forms of work. One of the special features of the building on the Alnatura Campus, designed by haascookzemmrich STUDIO2050, is the use of an innovative rammed earth façade, which was the first in the world to be covered with geothermal wall heating. The sound-effective wooden slat ceiling, which spans the atrium and the completely open office areas, is also unusual.
The building on the site of the former Kelley Barracks, which hardly resembles a conventional office building, offers space for up to 500 employees on three floors with an area of approx. 10,000 square meters. Architecturally, the house is not intended to impress, but to invite. It is open to the environment, to new ideas, to people. A workshop for ideas that captivates with its simplicity.
