The multifunctional new building provides space for the Leica flagship store, a museum, production and logistics areas, technical development and design departments, as well as office and administrative areas.
A coffee house blends into the central square, which offers numerous public opportunities to linger in addition to exhibition space.
The façade concept refers to the existing buildings of the first construction phase. Analogous to these, prefabricated exposed concrete elements are the dominant façade element as a rowed perforated façade. The partially curved glass façade of approx. 5.00 m high on the ground floor offers generous views of the building and, together with the construction of a viewing platform, emphasizes the architecture of the new building and the entrance to the city of Wetzlar.
