The new building of the funeral hall at the forest cemetery will be built on the site of a former simple roof. The building spatially defines two outdoor areas: in the east a 'secular' area that welcomes visitors and is characterized by a courtyard, in the west a 'sacred' area that bids farewell to the dead and is symbolized by a cross.

The spatial concept of the two-part structure is repeated in the building itself: on the one hand in the hall, on the other hand in the area of the adjoining rooms with laying out and sacristy. The two crooked roofs that meet in the ridge reflect this to the outside. In height, the roof, starting from the lower 'secular' section of the courtyard, rises to the cemetery to the west, releasing the soul through a large opening towards the resting place and heaven alike.

With regard to ecology and sustainability and with regard to the surroundings with old trees, the building is planned as a timber construction. A copper roof refers to the tradition of earlier sacred buildings. Construction: Timber frame construction spruce, round columns spruce, truss beech, roof copper, windows bronze/oak, façade larch wood strips standing, floor Kehlheim shell limestone
