The property for the start-up depot in Immanuelkirchstraße is located in Prenzlauer Berg. This in turn lies entirely on the ground moraine area of the Barnim. 80% of the existing buildings were built in the period around the turn of the last century (approx. 1890-1905). The structure was always the same. Front building, rear building and then a carriage house. The result was a great mix of uses.
While people lived in the front and rear building, craftsmen worked in the coach house: carpenters, saddlers, locksmiths, printers, bakers. Much of what was necessary for life was produced directly on site. Although the housing has remained, the business has gone. Now it's coming back. Graphic designers, programmers, planners or others come.
The idea of a multi-purpose city is finally back. Some will say: "Good idea, but the ground moraine area of the Barnim is really unimportant." That's not true. Without them, the basement would constantly fill us with water. Knowledge of the past actually always helps.
