Beam BauBuche GL75

Pollmeier Massivholz GmbH & Co. KG

Description

BauBuche GL75 is made from 40 mm thick BauBuche S slats glued parallel to the fibres. Thanks to its high strength and rigidity, BauBuche GL75 enables slender constructions for high loads and large spans.

In addition to an application with horizontal veneers, the GL75 can also be used with vertically standing veneers.

BauBuche beams are ground at the factory and are ideal for visible applications.

More Over

BauBuche's higher strength and stiffness values make it possible to use smaller cross-sections, which leads to considerable material savings. Depending on the application, different properties are decisive for the design. In the case of single-span girders, it is usually the stiffness (modulus of elasticity), in the case of continuous girders it is rather the bending strength or the shear strength, and in the case of columns and trusses, the compressive and tensile strength. The table on the right shows the material savings when using glulam GL28, laminated veneer lumber spruce and BauBuche GL75 based on solid wood C24 (construction timber of normal strength).

Assumptions are:

  • Use in usage class 1
  • Class of load duration: medium
  • constant height of the cross-section of 300 mm
  • Calculation according to EN 1995-1-1.
