Kaufmann Holzbauwerke needed a simple hall with crane runways in an industrial area near Augsburg in front of the village of Bobingen for the storage, finishing and commissioning of glued timber. Apart from the enormous time pressure (planning and realisation 01-99 to 05-99), the focus was on providing the client with a building with simple details and constructions appropriate to the building task, which can be used to should be specifically tailored to the given production process, but should nevertheless have a high degree of flexibility in order to adapt to future developments in the not to be an obstacle to operations. In addition, it was the client's wish to simple theme, to construct a building that meets the claim to be one of the leading timber construction company in Europe.
The production, or the interior of the hall - people, workflows, material, construction can be experienced from the outside through the transparent façade, just as the surroundings of the hall have a direct effect on the room.
