The new construction of a concert and event hall forms the centrepiece of the newly created Bruderhaus area next to Reutlingen's old town and functions as a contemporary, cultural centre of the city. In terms of urban planning, the building is divided into two volumes: the plinth, which horizontally takes up the line of the treetops, and the radiant "crown" sitting on it. According to the type of the ancient temple, this crown establishes the connection between the Bürgerpark and the old city center. On four floors, the building offers a large hall with up to 1,700 seats, a small hall with 400 seats as well as conference rooms, administrative offices, multifunctional foyers and an outdoor terrace. The two halls are located in the centre of the building and are enclosed by the foyers and service areas, which thus shield the sensitive areas from outside noise. The Stadthalle Reutlingen received the Hugo Häring Award 2014 from the BDA Neckar-Alb as well as the award for exemplary buildings from the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects in 2014.
