The residential high-rises present an urban concept for future coexistence and living. As a modern townhouse typology, they overlap private and communal spaces and characterise the entire quarter with their façade design.
The aim was to develop a model for future living. The buildings were to offer a maximum of stay and quality of life for the users and at the same time form a striking address. In particular, the bay window motif developed for the façade design has an identity-creating effect. The bay window motif creates a relief-like building envelope with a sculptural effect. For the residents, the room opens up from the inside, the view expands in three directions without a view of the neighboring apartment. This will increase both the urban quality of the apartments and their floor space.
The design of the residential high-rises marketed under the name "Friends" shows the architectural implementation of the "sharing concept": roof terraces to be used by all or a communal "Kitchen Lounge" complement the private apartments. Consequently, public space is not only located outside, but also inside the buildings. The room concept efficiently arranges all living spaces around the centrally located supply core, the so-called "cube" with bathroom, kitchen and utility room. The result is flexible and well-lit rooms.
