The new centre for tourism – a strong house for Schruns

The heart of the company is much more than just a workplace for 60 people, a control centre for almost 900 employees in winter and a point of contact for tourists. It is always in the spotlight: in addition to guests, suppliers and media representatives, the new training centre for 44 professions from the entire tourism industry creates career prospects for young people in the valley.

The ground floor is connected to Silvretta Platz without thresholds and functions as a lobby, information desk and conference room as a public part of the building. This is where people meet and get information, and where media events, press conferences and banquets take place. For maximum flexibility, the upper office floors are zoned only by three stiffening cores, which house the stairwell, the elevator and the wet rooms. Their arrangement minimizes the access area and enables informal communication zones for employees.

The main façade centres the newly designed space and creates a pleasant dignity through its precise placement – in keeping with the location. The outer material for the new Alpin Sport headquarters looks both timeless and symbolically representative. Motifs such as "carved out of stone", "belonging to the mountains" or "craftsmanship" and "building tradition" create a familiar visual language. The more heavily used public areas consist of a polygonally laid natural stone floor, while all offices and meeting rooms are equipped with solid, roughly sawn oak planks: The natural wooden floors in combination with the floor-to-ceiling oak furniture create an almost homely, comfortable working atmosphere on the office floors despite the open floor plan. Ecologically positive, robust Building materials in the interior and exterior guarantee a long service life, no maintenance and also contribute positively to the topic of sustainability and high comfort.
