GIMA maintains a long tradition in the production of clay building materials. With our quality products, we are not only an important supplier for the region, but also convince our customers beyond the country's borders with individual solutions and innovative approaches.
We are the only plant in the world to produce such a large number of different clay products at one location. In addition to our clinker bricks for façades and floors, the Marklkofen site also produces roof tiles for our sister company Erlus as well as large-format brick panels from the subsidiary MOEDING. From hand-held brickmakers to high-tech production, the entire spectrum is represented and is always worth a visit for a personal tour of the plant.
A sense of tradition and entrepreneurial vision have always characterised the orientation of the GIMA brickworks. In 1903, Therese Girnghuber, the great-grandmother of the current owner Claus Girnghuber, acquired the brickworks. Since then, GIMA has been family-owned.
"We like to be the first to do things and are committed to responding to customer wishes. My father laid the foundations for this customer-oriented production of special solutions in the late 1950s. Until then, the company was a normal brick factory that mainly served the region. This early willingness to innovate is still a common thread of success throughout the company's history today.
GIMA takes care of the planners' questions. They don't want to do it somehow, but offer solutions that are convincing in the interests of the client, the architect and also their own self-image. Whether it's new sizes, shapes, colors, surfaces or technical properties, the development team learns and expands its knowledge with every special order. We offer an ideal mix of artisanal and industrial production. In many projects, this is precisely what is decisive."
