Awareness and appreciation of regional, traditional architecture as well as careful handling of the existing buildings form the basis for the expansion of the five-star superior golf and wellness resort. The facility was enlarged during ongoing operations and the logistics of the resort were optimized.
Over the decades, the constant expansion of the resort had created a confusing building organization that required long access routes and personnel-intensive processes. The further growth of the ensemble required a new structure that is immediately accessible to the user. The draft is therefore based on a clear, legible organisational principle. The existing building was carefully gutted, reduced in its cubature and supplemented by further buildings staggered in location and height. The architectural concept quotes the archetype of the homestead of individual and group gable-roofed houses. Their arrangement refers to a sensitive, scaled integration into the landscape.
A new reception hall, a modern conference centre, an expanded spa area and 125 newly equipped hotel rooms were built. An essential component of the design was the embedding of the open space in the building ensemble: the house and terrace form a symbiotic unit and clearly distinguish themselves from the landscape.
