Liapor: known throughout Europe for expanded clay
Expanded clay of the Liapor brand is produced in several European countries. The expanded clay ball with its many advantages is sold throughout Europe. By truck, rail and ship, the Liapor plant in Pautzfeld near Forchheim/Upper Franconia mainly supplies the German market with high-quality expanded clay. Liapor has sales offices in Switzerland and the Netherlands. The Liapor Group also owns the only expanded clay plant in Austria, Lias Österreich Ges mbH. With a production facility in Fehring near Graz, the company has positioned itself excellently in Austria's building materials market and is increasingly supplying Expanded Clay to Southeastern European countries such as Hungary, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia. With the plant in Vintirov near Karlsbad (North Bohemia/Czech Republic), the Liapor Group has another production facility.

From the sphere to the building material
Liapor works maintain their own laboratories and development departments, which work closely with each other and with specialist institutes from many areas. The four producing Liapor plants not only produce the basic material Liapor, but also provide the know-how to process Liapor expanded clay into market-oriented quality building materials. Concrete plants produce Liapor bricks, Liapor prefabricated elements, lightweight mortars and lightweight concrete from expanded clay.

Versatile use
In addition, Liapor expanded clay has a wide range of other applications: Loose or bound Liapor fills are used both in new buildings and in renovations. However, they are also used in building construction and civil engineering as insulating, levelling and drainage fills. Liadrain is suitable as a substrate for green roofs, Liaflor for hydroponics. Liaperl has made a name for itself as a bacteria carrier for biological wastewater treatment. In the cold season, broken Liapor is used as winter litter and quickly and safely avoids the risk of slipping.

Focus on ecology
Environmental protection is a particularly high priority for Liapor plants. This begins with the careful and economical use of natural raw material sources. The highly effective production process means that only one cubic metre of raw clay is needed to produce five cubic metres of liapor. State-of-the-art flue gas cleaning systems clean the exhaust air from the firing process, while the renaturation of mined areas complies with the latest findings and regulations. Nature receives its loan back in an ecologically sensible form.
