The historic monastery complex in Kramsach, Austria, now serves as a special school with an attached boarding school. However, the spatial quality and mystical power live on. The aim of the design for a further building was to further develop the existing monastic structure and its effect and to complete the ensemble towards the street to the west. The functional and design orientation is towards the inner courtyard, which is atmospherically enhanced by the juxtaposition of the listed main building and the new, inconspicuously placed but massive and weighty new building. The main building accommodates special rooms and the school management, while the new building houses classrooms, a therapy pool and a gym. The boarding school is connected to the main building by a glass bridge, and the group rooms are also oriented towards the inner courtyard.
