The brothers Bernhard Marte (1966) and Stefan Marte (1967) completed their architectural studies at the Technical University in Innsbruck. In 1993, the joint office was founded in Weiler, a small Rhine Valley community in Vorarlberg (AT). Both were involved in the board of the Central Association of Architects of Vorarlberg. Stefan Marte has been President of the vai Vorarlberg Architecture Institute since 2005. The projects of Marte.Marte Architects cover a wide range from private homes to office and infrastructure buildings to cultural objects. Her designs are characterized by rigid abstraction, reduction and an unmistakable understanding of the respective place. Numerous competition successes and international prizes prove the importance of the office, which is now based in Feldkirch and employs around 30 people.
