A unitised façade consists of modular elements that are prefabricated in the factory and form a closed unit. The individual elements are brought to the construction site, where they are attached to the shell with three-dimensionally adjustable anchoring systems (loose and fixed bearings) and glued together with sealing foil and sealing tapes. (see also ☛ façade waterproofing) The connection between them is formed by the so-called coupling joint.
In contrast to cross-storey ☛ mullion-transom façades, the elements are only one storey high and usually one window axis wide. Complex façade constructions can thus be assembled and glazed under controlled conditions in the workshop.

Installation
Unitised façades are particularly suitable for large-scale and uniformly designed façade surfaces. The application is particularly useful for multi-storey buildings and high-rise buildings, as they can also be installed without scaffolding with appropriate prefabrication. The assembly is usually carried out floor by floor from bottom to top.
The elements are anchored by pre-assembled loose and fixed bearings, which are attached to three-dimensionally aligned and tolerance-compensating fastening brackets
Integral façade
In addition, various elements such as sun or glare protection are easier to integrate into the construction even under workshop conditions.
