HeidelbergCement Infra-Lightweight Concrete

HeidelbergCement AG

Description

Infra-lightweight concrete is a particularly light concrete. While lightweight concrete by definition has a maximum weight of 2000 kg/m³, infra-lightweight concrete can reach a weight of less than 800 kg/m³ with lighter aggregates. Instead of gravel or gravel, expanded clay or the recycled material expanded glass are used in the production of this concrete, which makes it so light and porous and traps a lot of air. This creates a thermally insulating and at the same time load-bearing concrete. Thanks to its integrated thermal insulation, this monolithic material offers great design potential. For multi-storey residential construction, the loss of strength caused by weight reduction is justifiable. For example, with a dry bulk density of less than 800 kg/m³, a compressive strength class of LC8/9 can still be achieved.

More Over

Currently, every construction project with infra-lightweight concrete still requires approval in the individual case (Z.i.E.), the obtaining of which can be time-consuming to varying degrees. For successful implementation, the early involvement of the concrete supplier is therefore absolutely necessary.

The experience of Heidelberger Beton from the projects in Munich and Berlin can be built on and is certainly an advantage in obtaining a Z.i.E. in other federal states as well.

Areas of application

  • Residential, agricultural, public or industrial buildings
  • Walls, cellars and other building elements
  • Renovation and modernisation
  • Slimmer load-bearing components due to their low dead weight
  • Bridge girders, beams and ceilings
  • New design freedom for modern architecture in building construction, civil engineering and bridge construction
  • Striking buildings and structures
