URBAN GARDENING is a special form of the green roof system GARDEN ROOF. In this system, the green roof is cultivated as a kitchen garden with crops, such as vegetables and herbs. With a higher system structure of the green roof, even the use of berry bushes and fruit trees is possible.

In URBAN GARDENING, it is possible to plant herbs and vegetables with a base layer structure of at least 12 cm. For berry bushes, we recommend a higher substrate height. This can be up to 40 cm. Drainage is carried out via Optigrün solid-state drainage (FKD 40), which is suitable for green roofs from 0-5°.
