KOROMINERAL Glaze

KORODUR Westphal Hartbeton GmbH & Co. KG

Description

Special impregnation - coloured surface treatment

based on lithium silicate

KOROMINERAL Lasur is a two-component impregnation based on lithium silicate for the surface treatment of cement-bound substrates in the colours stone or mouse grey (no RAL colours).

More Over

Application

KOROMINERAL Lasur is used for the impregnation of cement-bound screed and concrete surfaces as well as especially of KORODUR screeds. Due to its pigmentation, KOROMINERAL glaze is particularly suitable for new, visually uneven concrete surfaces and equally for old surfaces. The respective area will be visually upgraded. In addition, the surface is protected against the penetration of liquids such as oils, greases, etc. KOROMINERAL glaze is not permanently water-resistant.

Properties

  • Improved surface appearance and properties
  • Increased tightness
  • Water-repellent effect
  • Improved surface hardness and chemical resistance
  • Less dust accumulation
  • Improved cleanability

Processing

The impregnation of freshly installed concrete or screed surfaces with KOROMINERAL glaze should be carried out at the earliest after the surface has dried follow. The residual moisture in the substrate must be < 4 CM-%.

  • Substrate: The substrate must be dry, firm, clean, absorbent and free of oil, grease and other contaminants that act as release agents. To prepare the substrate, at least intensive wet cleaning with coarse (e.g. black) cleaning pads is required. In the case of stubborn sinter layers or very dense floor coverings, grinding (metal-bonded diamond tools approx. #80) or brushing (steel brushes) of the surface is necessary. After sanding, wet cleaning (fine cleaning) must always be carried out with an automatic scrubber dryer. Before application, the residual moisture of the substrate must be determined. This must be < 4 CM-%, as there could be color differences later. No rising damp per ASTM D4263 (PE film). Inspection with TRAMEX moisture measuring device with display value < 5 %. The surface temperature should be between 10 °C and 25 °C.
  • Processing: Stir components A and B briefly before mixing. Slowly stir component B into component A and then mix with electric whisk for 3 minutes. Then repotting in a separate processing container is recommended. KOROMINERAL Lasur must be applied within 60 minutes (at 20 °C) after mixing. Older material may not be reused! Processing is carried out evenly in the cross aisle with a short-pile nylon roller in two passes. Depending on the temperature conditions, the drying time between operations is 1 - 3 hours Avoid sunlight during processing. During hardening, the relative humidity of 70% must not be exceeded. Protect fresh surfaces from condensation and other moisture. After approx. 4 - 5 hours of drying time, the surface is accessible, after 48 hours mechanically loadable. Ensure sufficient ventilation during drying. The surfaces must be protected from moisture for 7 days. Wet cleaning also after 7 days at the earliest. The use of highly alkaline basic cleaners should be avoided. If necessary, use alkaline cleaners only after 6 months and only in small doses (see also separate cleaning and maintenance care).
