Nordic Blue products are pre-patinated in the Aurubis rolling mill to immediately obtain an even blue patinated surface. This patinated surface otherwise only develops over time in the environment. Especially in coastal regions. The pre-patination process promotes the further formation of natural patina due to environmental influences and is dependent on local weather and precipitation conditions. Different intensities of patinations can be created to expose some of the dark oxidized background material. Aurubis develops special individual patination levels to meet specific design requirements or to adapt to the historically patinated copper of existing buildings.
