For over 150 years, we have been producing copper and other metals that are indispensable for the modernization and further development of our lives in the coming decades. We therefore see ourselves as a true multimetal supplier.
Thanks to our metallurgical know-how, technically high-quality facilities, and industry-leading environmental standards, Aurubis is a leading global copper recycler and supplier of non-ferrous metals. Our core competence is the processing and optimal recycling of complex concentrates and recycled raw materials into metals of the highest purity.
In addition to our core metal copper, this includes precious metals such as gold, silver and platinum group metals, but also metals such as lead, nickel, tin, zinc and selenium.
Every year, we produce more than 1 million tons of exchangeable copper cathodes with a purity of 99.99% in our European smelter network and process them into a wide range of precursors made of copper or copper alloys. These include wire rod, continuous casting formats, profiles or flat rolled products. Other by-products such as sulfuric acid, iron silicate and synthetic minerals round off the portfolio.
Sustainability plays an important role in all our activities. Aurubis is already an industry leader in energy efficiency and environmental protection. Nevertheless, we are not resting on our laurels, but are continuing to work to reduce emissions. We have set ourselves the goal of CO2-neutral production by 2050 and are also working on new technologies such as the use of hydrogen in production.
