TRU Exposed Screed PC

KORODUR Westphal Hartbeton GmbH & Co. KG

Description

mineral, self-leveling, faster-curing, ground exposed screed

in terrazzo look

Rapid Set TRU PC is a high-quality, innovative, self-leveling, mineral exposed screed in a polished concrete look based on special cement technology. Ideal when early strength, durability and low-shrinkage curing are required. TRU PC is designed to simulate the appearance of sanded concrete. TRU PC can be applied for up to 20 minutes and can be walked on after just 2 - 3 hours. Installation thickness 10 - 35 mm.

More Over

Application

For the production of polished, decorative exposed screeds. For attractive, unique design of sales rooms, restaurants, foyers, museums, office buildings, schools, airports and all other representative spaces. Can be used indoors and outdoors, even in wet areas. TRU PC is a multifunctional product that can be individually and creatively designed in different colour variants. Due to the wide range of possibilities, we recommend on-site preliminary tests / sample areas.

Sustainable construction

The use of TRU PC reduces the CO2 footprint, increases energy and resource efficiency and conserves natural resources. The production of Rapid Set cement requires 30% less CO2 emissions than conventional Portland cement. Processing

  • Substrate: Prepare the substrate before installation, e.g. by shot blasting. The substrate must be load-bearing, firm, clean, dry, crack-free and free of loose parts, oils, greases or other adhesion-reducing impurities. Surface tensile strength: • without driving stress ≥ 1.0 N/mm2 with driving stress and/or outdoors ≥ 1.5 N/mm²
The

requirements of DIN 18365 and DIN 18560 apply. Apply 2-component epoxy resin primer KORODUR TXPK to the prepared substrate, then sand generously with fire-dried quartz sand grain size 0.4 - 0.8 mm (see data sheet KORODUR TXPK).

  • Mixing: The use of a suitable mixing technique, e.g. Hippo Mixer, Collomix-LevMix or mixing whisk with at least 650 rpm, is recommended. Do not use a mixing technique that brings in large quantities of air Mix TRU PC with approx. 3.6 l of clean water per 27.2 kg container. The mixing time for an even, lump-free consistency is 3 - 5 minutes. The correct consistency is to be determined by determining the extent of the spread. We recommend using our "FLOW Kit" with appropriate instructions. TRU PC should be processed within 20 minutes. Keep the material temperature above + 10 °C.
  • Processing: TRU PC is applied to the prepared and primed substrate in a layer thickness of 10 mm or more. For heavily used soils, TRU PC should be applied in a layer thickness of 13 mm. In order to apply the material evenly, the use of a suitable squeegee is recommended. To remove air pockets, the still liquid surface is spiked with a plastic spiked roller. The entire surface must be protected from drying out too quickly, against wind, draughts, sunlight, etc. during application until the time it can be walked on. Air and material temperatures above 20 °C can accelerate the setting and strength behavior. The processing must be coordinated with this. It is advisable to use mixing water that is as cold as possible. Air and material temperatures below 20 °C can slow down the setting and strength behavior, especially with thinner layer thicknesses. We recommend warming up the material and/or mixing water.

Under

normal conditions at 20 °C, no post-treatment with water is required. In extremely dry, windy, hot or sunny conditions, post-treatment by means of a fine water mist on the sufficiently bound TRU surface is recommended.

Joints

All joints in hardened load-bearing concrete are to be taken over in the exposed screed layer. The exposed screed must be separated from rising components (walls, columns, etc.).

Grinding / Polishing

TRU PC can be sanded as early as 24 hours after installation. TRU PC behaves similarly to concrete during grinding and polishing. The surfaces can be sanded to a high-gloss look. Grinding instructions can be provided upon request. Note: When sanding, up to 3 mm of the original paving thickness (depending on the desired look) is sanded down.

After

drying/walkability, suitable impregnation or care is recommended. This leads to an increase in chemical resistance, has a moisture- and dirt-repellent effect, and optimises the appearance. TRU PC thus becomes an easy-care, hard-wearing, attractive design floor.

KORODUR

design floors are cement screeds and are subject to building physics laws. Unfavourable construction site conditions and unforeseeable influences, e.g. temperature, draughts or sunlight, can lead to unplanned/undesirable phenomena (cracks/warping). In particular, cracks can be caused by a wide variety of causes and cannot be completely ruled out. Depending on the quality of the planning and execution, however, their number and extent can be greatly reduced. Cracks increase the authenticity of the floor and do not represent a reduction in design performance. KORODUR design floors are based on natural raw materials, so colour and structure fluctuations cannot be ruled out. Depending on the time of day, the incidence of light or the position of the viewer, a decorative exposed screed can appear different. See also BEB Worksheet Design Flooring 09/14.
