Derivative
Each place has its own structural, social and cultural history. Whether or not this is visible in the form of traditions, records and preserved holdings does not matter: when looking at the closer and wider encompassment, using architectural empathy and recognizing local specifics, it becomes evident what is available, given and how to proceed. It is derived from historical, spatial and thematic aspects.
Assimilation
In doing so, we start from the idea that the relationships in which an object stands are just as important as the object itself. Its planning, in conjunction with its later use, becomes a reflective self-service at its temporal and spatial location. Together with its surroundings, its structural implementation forms a new, heterogeneous unit and deliberately dispenses with the superficial contrast. Assimilation means structural and socio-cultural integration. Derivation and assimilation result in architecture.
Architecture
We reject the worldwide harmonization of our cities through the hasty demolition of established buildings and the uncritical import of arbitrary uniform architecture, as well as the conservation of historic old towns into sacrosanct open-air museums. The city must continue to be built in the spirit of a reflected regionalism, and the individual house must be developed from its future context. Our buildings are independent, contemporary architectures and at the same time interpretations of existing typologies, traditions handed down and existing structural elements. They are links in an evolutionary chain that continues to write the history of a place and opposes global tendencies that are currently overrunning the globe and destroying homeland.
