House partitions

Depending on the use, particularly high requirements for sound insulation often apply to buildings directly adjacent to each other, usually in conjunction with fire protection requirements. Partition walls between two residential buildings, e.g. between two terraced house units or between two apartment buildings, are usually double-skinned.

Example diagram of a double-shell house partition wall:

  1. partition wall led to below the roof cladding (e.g. roof tiles) without cavities, if necessary upper end with mineral wool insulation, melting point at least 1,000° C
  2. Double-skinned masonry partition wall
  3. insulation layer
  4. Separation also takes over in the base plate. Otherwise, reduce the sound insulation level on the lowest floor by approx. 5 dB.
