Meadow
grass insulation has thermal insulation properties comparable to glass or rock wool with a thermal conductivity of 0.038 to 0.04 W/mK. It is well suited for sound insulation and impact sound insulation. Another advantage is that the natural property of meadow grass to regulate moisture is retained even after production and ensures a pleasant indoor climate. In addition, meadow grass fibre has a low self-heating rate and is therefore effective against summer overheating. The bulk density of the loose fibres is 53–68 kg/m³, for the boards 35 to 80 kg/m³.
The
loose meadow grass insulation material is suitable for blowing in hard-to-reach places in old buildings, such as cavities in ceilings, roofs and walls. In easily accessible ceilings or floor constructions that are still open, the meadow grass insulation can also be poured. The insulation boards are suitable for applications with low pressure loads, such as intermediate or lower rafters, timber frame construction or basement ceilings.
Recyclability / dismantling Grass
fibre boards can be removed and reused. In the case of impurities, thermal recycling is preferable. Due to the addition of flame retardants and binders, composting is problematic.
