LD Brick, Definition

LD bricks are masonry bricks with a low gross dry bulk density, which may only be used in masonry that is protected against water penetration (protected masonry), e.g. by a suitable plaster layer, cladding or as an inner wall shell of a double-shell wall. The bricks can be installed in both exterior and interior walls, as load-bearing or non-load-bearing walls.
