Properties
The wood fibre insulation board is permeable to water vapour and enables a vapour-permeable design. Particularly advantageous is the pronounced sorption and desorption behaviour typical of wood, which enables harmless moisture absorption of up to 20 percent by weight without the insulation material getting wet and losing its insulating effect. The thermal insulation effect is good (λ = 0.039 to 0.063 W/mK), in addition to a high heat storage capacity and good sound insulation properties. The storage efficiency of the panels is particularly important in attic conversions, as it brings a good phase shift of the heat peaks. In areas at risk of moisture, hydrophobic panels must be provided. A natural resin (latex) is preferable to the bitumen additive.

Forms of supply Wood
fibre insulation materials are mainly offered in panels, but occasionally also as loose insulation materials.
Wood
fibre insulation boards can be used indoors and outdoors (wall, floor, ceiling and attic conversion). For the roof, hydrophobic insulation boards are used as a sub-roof or for the insulation of flat roofs, pressure-resistant panels for above-rafter insulation. Wood fibre insulation boards are also well suited for inter-rafter and under-rafter insulation.
