CPL board (Continuous Pressure Laminate)

Together with the high-pressure laminate boards (HPL boards), CPL boards belong to the decorative laminate boards. They consist of thin layers of paper that are soaked in melamine and phenolic resins and pressed under pressure and high temperature to form a stable board. The top top layer can be printed as desired, which makes the board extremely versatile in terms of design. The panels are extremely resistant to impacts, heat, UV rays, scratches, organic solvents, water and acid, but also to graffiti.

CPL boards differ from HPL boards in that they have a lower pressing pressure during production and a lower layer thickness: While HPL boards have a thickness of 0.5 mm – 40 mm, the thickness of CPL boards is a maximum of 1.5 mm. They are therefore usually used in veneer form, i.e. glued to the substrate over the entire surface, e.g. as a decorative top layer on the door leaves of interior doors.
