Applicable regulations for the execution of waterproofing of trafficable traffic areas are in particular DIN 18195 (= definitions of terms) in conjunction with DIN 18532 Parts 1-6 (= application standard) and the Flat Roof Directive.
However, the scope of these regulations is limited as follows:
- The Flat Roof Directive only applies to the waterproofing of drivable surfaces that are part of a building, i.e . not , for example, to bridges, for which the Flat Roof Directive refers to DIN 18532 DIN 18532
- only applies to the waterproofing of drivable traffic areas made of concrete, not However, for bridges/engineering structures for rail vehicles or within the scope of the ZTV-ING, earth-covered drivable ceiling surfaces (see DIN 18533), drivable floor slabs of buildings, water-impermeable concrete components according to DAfStb guideline and concrete parking decks that are considered sufficiently durable against chlorides without an additional outer protective layer
