The basic element of the brick is clay. This is processed in the manufacturing process, shaped and then fired. As a rule, three types of clay are characterized, each of which varies in color and composition:

  • Particularly calcareous clay causes the stone to turn yellow during the firing process of the brick
  • Natural
  • clay allows for different colors. Among other things, white, grey and black
  • Ferrous clay develops red to reddish-brown bricks
