Formwork panels form the formwork for the production of reinforced concrete components.
In this process, a dense "mold" is created into which the liquid concrete is poured. It is possible to leave formwork panels at the place of use, they are then a so-called "lost formwork". In most cases, however, concrete components are "stripped", which means that the formwork is removed after the concrete has dried.

surface structure of the formlining:
A distinction is made between absorbent and non-absorbent formlining. Absorbent formlining (e.g. made of wood or textiles) has the advantage that excess water can escape from the concrete in the edge area. As a result, the surfaces have fewer pores, fewer cavities, but are also rougher than when using non-absorbent formwork (e.g. made of metal or plastic).

Stripping: According to DIN 1045-3, cast-in-place concrete components may be stripped if the concrete has sufficiently hardened. However, the standard does not define any guideline values for stripping periods. So here you have to fall back on empirical values. In addition, excessive loads on the fresh concrete components must be avoided initially. As a rule, reinforced concrete walls should remain in the formwork for at least a week. Further information can be found in the DBV leaflet "Concrete formwork and stripping deadlines".
