Dry construction sawn timber (TS) is sawn in one piece from a tree trunk and left rough-sawn. It must be dried to a maximum wood moisture content of 20% and visually sorted according to its strength according to DIN 4074. Softwoods are mainly used, the most common are spruce, fir, pine, larch and Douglas fir. But hardwoods such as oak or beech are also available as construction timber. Dry construction sawn timber is the most common material for a wooden roof truss that is not visible in its finished state.
