Infiltration capacity (Kf-value) according to DIN 18130-1

The Kf value is the permeability coefficient, which describes the degree of infiltration (water permeability) of soils. The higher the value, the better the infiltration capacity. There are the following classifications:

• Very permeable: K f > 10-2 m/s Highly permeable: K f10-2 - 10-4 m/s Permeable: K f 10-4 - 10-6 m/s Slightly permeable: K f  
• 10-6 - 10-8 m/s Very permeable: Kf  10-6 - 10-8 m/s
