Acoustic panels

Acoustic panels can be used to improve room acoustics. They are planned as wall or ceiling cladding, behind the wall and ceiling cladding, as suspended ceilings or as elements in the room.

More about acoustic panels

Panels made of thin but dense materials are suitable as wall cladding for resonance absorption. These are, for example, plasterboard, plywood, chipboard, wood fibreboard, wood panelling, glass, but also stiff films or leather.

Notes on planning

The panels are attached in front of walls and under ceilings. It must be ensured that the plates can vibrate freely. Therefore, a certain minimum size of supports and stiffeners must be kept free. It should be approx. 0.4 m², whereby the distance between the parts of the panels adjacent to the substructure must not be less than 0.5 m in any direction.

An open-pore insulation material can be loosely placed in the air space behind the panels. This increases the sound-absorbing effect and widens the resonance range somewhat.
