Description

The elliptical large slats made of extruded aluminium can be projected both vertically and horizontally in movable and rigid form on façades. The opening angle of the slats is arbitrary. An automatic control system automatically tracks the large slats depending on the position of the sun, thus providing optimal sun protection. Colt Solarfin large slats provide optimal shading. They represent a rigid shading system designed on the basis of lightweight construction, which offers maximum benefits for the user and sun protection on facades, in front of windows, on shed roofs or continuous rooflights . A Colt Solarfin solar shading system is primarily used for static sun protection and shielding of the window surfaces in question, where the entry of direct sunlight would lead to intense heat generation. The Solarfin large-fin system helps to significantly reduce cooling loads.

Control and regulation:

The Soltronic III control system enables automatic tracking of the large slats. The basis for this is an astronomical calculation of the position of the sun. Depending on the time, date and location, the actual position of the sun is correctly determined. Depending on the façade geometry and slat arrangement, the resulting slat angle is calculated for the selected mode - e.g. shading, light control, etc. - and approached via the slat motor. Via selectable external field devices, such as light, wind and temperature sensors etc. can be reacted to different weather conditions, creating a lively façade.
