Petersen Tegel Shaped Bricks

Petersen Tegl A/S

Description

The moulded bricks department at Petersen Tegl produces unique pieces for new buildings and historic buildings. Petersen Tegl has many years of experience in the production of handmade bricks. This expertise is the basis of the  department for shaped bricks, i.e. developing hand-painted bricks in individual formats for specific projects.

More Over

The Moulded Stone Department was founded in 1990 when the world-famous Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen wanted to restore its 1890 main entrance, which was clad in terracotta ornaments. Petersen Tegl was commissioned to reconstruct these ornaments.

A large part of the production of this department is commissioned for construction projects whose architectural design language requires special stones to meet the needs of particular masonry details. Another important area of work is the restoration of historic houses, which are often listed as historical monuments. It requires very special expertise to produce bricks whose color and structure can be used seamlessly in buildings that are often several hundred years old.

The glazing of bricks is also one of the department's areas of work, which has gained solid experience through years of experimenting with colours and firing temperatures. Glazed bricks are used in both modern buildings and historic houses.
