illbruck FA101 Window and Connection Joint Silicone

illbruck - a brand of Tremco CPG Germany GmbH

Description

FA101 is a neutral-curing, elastic 1-component silicone sealant with high resilience and good adhesion to many substrates.

It is particularly suitable for the sealing of connection joints and other movement joints in the building envelope and meets the requirements of DIN 18540 (Sealing of exterior wall joints in building construction) and has the classification according to DIN EN 15651-1: TYPE F-EXT-INT-CC-25LM

FA101 is also used for wet glazing in timber window construction and is very compatible with insulating glass composite sealants.

It provides long-lasting adhesion to most pore-closed substrates such as anodized aluminum, PVC, polyacrylates (Plexiglas®), polycarbonates (Makrolon®), lacquered or glazed wood, glass, and glazed surfaces (see data sheet).

10 years warranty

FA101 is part of our i3 waterproofing system and can therefore be combined with many other waterproofing products. For waterproofing with our i3 system, we offer a 10-year functional warranty (see data sheet).

Design (more detailed information can be found in the data sheet)

  • The adhesive surfaces must be clean, i.e. dust-free, grease-free, load-bearing and air-dry.
  • Check compatibility with the building materials used (see data sheet).
  • Connection joints are to be backfilled to the correct joint depth with closed-cell illbruck PR102 PE round cord. In the case of joints with a rigid joint base, differently shaped backfill materials are permitted in exceptional cases (e.g. elastocell tape or PE release films)
  • Priming of the adhesive surfaces (e.g. illbruck AT101 primer on porous, mineral substrates)
  • Masking of the joint edges with a suitable adhesive tape is recommended.
  • Insert FA101 evenly into the joint without air bubbles and smooth the surface within the skin formation time with AA300 Smoothing Agent Concentrate or AA301 Smoothing Agent Spray.
  • Contamination by smoothing agents must be avoided or washed off immediately with water.
  • Then remove used masking tape immediately.
