EJOT system solution for flat roofs with waterproofing membrane

EJOT SE & Co. KG - Market Unit Construction

Description

Roof surfaces with a slope of less than 5° are called flat roofs. They should be designed with a minimum gradient of 2% (DIN 18531 Roof waterproofing - waterproofing for unused roofs).

Especially in industrial construction, the system of loose laying with mechanical fastening of roof waterproofing has established itself as an economical flat roof system. Depending on the flat roof structure and the insulation materials / waterproofing membranes used in it, fasteners with combinations of metal and plastic retaining plates are used.

More Over

Construction

The most common construction today is the single-skin, non-ventilated flat roof. Layer structure for non-ventilated flat roofs (warm roofs):

  • Waterproofing (if necessary with separation layer)
  • Thermal insulation Vapour
  • barrier
  • Roof support structure (e.g. steel trapezoidal profile)

Mechanical fastening

Special positive properties of mechanical fastening are:

  • Immediately usable fastening without waiting time
  • Fastening in one operation
  • Defined fastening type
  • No restrictions due to building use or surface properties
  • Manual or mechanical setting process

Depending on the flat roof structure and the insulation materials / waterproofing membranes used in it, fasteners with combinations of metal and plastic retaining plates are used. In the case of renovation, the currently valid flat roof directive requires the use of corrosion-resistant fasteners. Stainless steel fasteners are available for this purpose. In principle, all steel fasteners are provided with a Climadur coating, which meets the high corrosion protection requirements of the ETAG 006 after 15 rounds of Kesternich. The proper usability of all fasteners for mechanical flat roof fastening is regulated at European level within ETA-07/0013 by the building authorities. In the case of renovations or a subsoil of unknown load-bearing capacity, construction site pull-out tests must be carried out in accordance with ETAG 006. Our on-site service team will be happy to assist you.
