Description

ME508 is a self-adhesive, moisture-variable film for waterproofing work in the area of windows and façades on almost any surface. The bonding can withstand even short-term underwater stress. Due to its moisture-variable properties, it can be used both indoors and outdoors (no risk of confusion) and meets the recommendations of the RAL Quality Assurance Association FDKS.

ME508 is a premium product that is used for airtight and driving rain-proof sealing of joints and connections for windows and facades. The ME508 Flex variant also has a movement absorption of 30%.

  • DGNB: Registration code: CSUN43; Criteria Matrix No.44 – Quality Level 4; SVHC < 0.1%; is manufactured without halogenated flame retardants, solvent-free and not using (H)CFC/CKW
  • Very low emission: EC1PLUS (GEV)
  • Airtightness: a < 0.1 m³/[h m (daPa)2/3] (DIN 18 542)
  • Driving rain tightness: 1,050 Pa
  • Watertightness: W1, corresponds to 2000 Pa (DIN EN 13859)
  • UV resistance: 9 months
  • Water vapour diffusion: Humidity, sd value between 0.4 and 20 m (EN ISO 12572) depending on the average humidity

ME508 is one of our i3 waterproofing systems and can therefore be combined with many other waterproofing products. For waterproofing with our i3 system, we offer a 10-year functional warranty (see data sheet).

Execution (more detailed information can be found in the data sheet)

  • The planning of the joint dimension (materials and movements must be taken into account)
  • Above all, the adhesive surfaces must be dry and free of oil, grease, dust or other anti-adhesive components.
  • For difficult substrates, it is recommended to use illbruck primer (ME902; ME904 – see data sheet).
  • Film width, which allows an adhesive width on the reveal of at least 30 mm.
  • Roll carefully with a pressure roller.
  • In principle, the foil must be installed without tension.
  • The foil can be plastered over with commercially available mortars or painted over with architectural dispersion paints.
