GM KUB is a rectangular mounting system mounted on rails, raised on the visible side, which is used to suspend glass illuminated ceilings. The suspension of the glass panels is based on a glass holding system that can be moved and hooked in to a limited extent (patent: Glas Marte): With the GM KUB retaining system for illuminated glass ceilings, glass elements are gripped at the edges – without holes or cut-outs. This means that any glass panel, regardless of its arrangement in the illuminated ceiling, can be dismantled at any time without tools. The glass illuminated ceiling thus does not require shims or rim glasses. The almost unlimited glass dimensions also open up special architectural freedoms. Open joints with a width of 12 mm allow an idea of the depth of the room and the lighting technology behind it through the glass surface. There are no visible screw elements such as grooves, grooves or slots on the glass surface.
