Epprechtstein granite is particularly valued for its characteristic colour and texture, but above all for its proven quality for the design of natural stone work. Numerous historical objects bear witness to this. Its good physical and technical properties set no limits in its application both indoors and outdoors, and the tested and confirmed suitability for frozen de-icing salt is also an important criterion.
The quarry on the Epprechtstein has been mined for several centuries and is now one of the few operating quarries with grey and yellowish granite in Germany.
The regional Epprechtstein granite is a particularly sustainable building material.

Mineral composition
Alkali feldspar (approx. 35%), quartz (approx. 32%), plagioclase (approx. 24%), biotite and chlorite (approx. 3%), muscovite (approx. 4.5%) and accessory (approx. 1.5%)
Visual appearance
Medium-grained, grey-pale yellow to yellow granite, with an equigranular structure and texture. Partly with slight grain shifts and black biotite nests.
