Description

Water-distributing fleece made of polyester equipped on one side with capillary fibres, specially developed for use in conjunction with the Aquatec® AT 45 water distribution, storage and drainage element for efficient irrigation of green roofs.

The principle of irrigation by means of fleece with capillary fibres has been registered as a patent.

Only when a filter fleece is covered with a filter fleece does a seepage layer become a filter-stable drainage layer, as required by "DIN 4095 – Drainage for the Protection of Structural Facilities". On drainage elements (Floradrain®, Floraset®, etc.), the SF. Nonwovens of the TG or PV type should be applied to drainage fills (especially if they consist of sharp-edged materials) and to Elastodrain®. The system filter fleeces are laid with an overlap of approx. 20 cm. Filter fleeces should not be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time, as they are not UV-stable.

Particularly in the pitched roof area, shear-absorbing elements such as Georaster® and Floraset® FS 75 are used, depending on the roof pitch. The jute erosion control fabric serves as additional erosion protection.

Technical Information

Installation Instructions

This installation instructions describe the essential steps of using this product. In addition, please observe the relevant standards and guidelines, in particular the provisions of occupational health and safety.

If there is a risk of storms, the installation should not take place.

1) Laying:

The wick fleece is provided with a 10 cm wide lateral strip without wicks to allow for an appropriate overlap (strip is placed on top of each of the wicks during installation). In the case of headbutts, the wick fleece is also overlapped with approx. 10 cm.

In order to ensure a full-surface loss-free supply of water, sagging or overhanging of the fleece must be prevented. A gravel strip will therefore be arranged at the edge of the roof and around penetrations.

To protect the wick fleece from being lifted off by the wind after installation, it is a good idea to wet it from above. This also facilitates the subsequent first irrigation, as a basic moisture increases the capillary effect. It is important not to wet the fleece until it no longer needs to be moved.

To protect against UV radiation, the system filter must be covered immediately after installation.

2) Cutting:

The fleece can be cut with a cutter knife (with a hard blade) or sturdy universal scissors. When cutting, care must be taken to ensure that the layers that have already been laid are not damaged under any circumstances! If damage does occur, it must be reported and repaired immediately.

The wick fleece must be cut out over roof drains according to the drain size.
