ZinCo Intensive Green Roof NATURELINE

ZinCo GmbH

Description

ZinCo natureline system structure – with system components made from renewable raw materials

Thanks to bioplastics, the drainage element of the ZinCo "natureline" green roof system is largely made from sugar cane. The process energy required to convert sugar into plastic is also largely obtained from biomass. The cultivation of sugar cane is carried out under strict legal requirements that take into account both social and environmental standards and nature conservation (recognized according to the EU Biofuel Regulation). The production and processing of raw materials takes place in the state of Sao Paolo, about 2000 km from the Amazon region/rainforest.

Combined with the roof substrate Zincolit® as a pure recycled product, this system structure sets new standards in terms of ecology.

ZinCo developed the idea of a green roof system made from renewable raw materials together with the company Tecnaro GmbH. Tecnaro GmbH has been successfully active in the field of bioplastics since 1998 and received the international GREEN BRAND Germany award, among other things for the ARBOBLEND material group . A material type from this group has been specially developed for the use of deep-drawn applications such as drainage elements and has properties comparable to those of conventional polyethylene. With this, ZinCo has found a partner who shares the demands in terms of high quality and ecological sustainability.

Of course, all parameters relevant to the use of the respective products are observed. A permanent functional reliability of the system structure is absolutely guaranteed.

Intensive green roofs – well-kept gardens on used flat roofs

An intensive green roof can be compared to building a garden on a roof. These roofs are usually multifunctional and accessible. Intensive greening requires more weight and a higher system structure. Maintenance must be carried out regularly and depends on the design and the plants chosen. Depending on the thickness of the layer, almost all plants are possible, such as lawns, perennials, shrubs and trees, including other landscaping measures (e.g. ponds, pergolas and terraces).

These diverse forms of use can be implemented permanently and reliably with the ZinCo system structures. In addition, a large number of detailed solutions offer safety in the execution of connections and terminations, transitions and drainage points.

Features

  • Lawns, perennials, shrubs and trees
  • High maintenance Regular
  • watering
  • Structure thickness 15–200 cm
  • Weight 200–3,000 kg/m²

Intensive green roofs offer the entire spectrum of landscape architectural designs. Lawns, perennials, fruit and vegetables, woody plants and trees grow at layer heights of 15–100 cm, often combined with pavements, terraces, play areas or water features. Even driving surfaces, such as on underground car park ceilings, are possible with appropriate statics. Depending on the version, a weight of 150–1300 kg/m² must be taken into account and irrigation and maintenance requirements must be taken into account.
