Kalzip® Natural Roof

Kalzip GmbH

Description

The Kalzip natural roof based on the Kalzip aluminium standing seam system makes an important contribution to the preservation of our habitat. In addition to permanent, safe building protection, the natural roof with extensive greenery offers invaluable ecological and economic advantages, e.g. an improvement in the climate, relief of the sewer networks through rainwater retention, more habitat for plants, animals and people, improved sound insulation, higher savings in energy costs through improved thermal insulation.

The Kalzip natural roof meets all technical and design requirements. On all the roof structures described above, the additional structure to the Kalzip natural roof is possible – taking into account the static requirements and in the case of Kalzip 65/333. It consists of a high-performance drainage mat to regulate the water balance and selected substrate as a vegetation layer for extensive greening with sedum plants.

More Over

Roof structure:

1. Sedum planting, low-growing, self-regenerating, drought-resistant, frost-resistant

2. Kalzip planting substrate, natural product with test certificate

3. Kalzip drainage mat with filter fleece coating, supplied as roll goods

4. Kalzip aluminium profile panels, the root-proof and moisture-proof basis for the natural roof structure

5. Thermal insulation layer, precisely adaptable to object-related requirements

6. Kalzip composite clip

7. Steam and air barrier, permanently protects against diffusion moisture from above and below

8. Trapezoidal profile, the durable and lightweight supporting shell for truss and purlin roof construction; Wooden formwork is also possible

Advantages:

  • The construction is carried out directly on the Kalzip profile panels without additional sealing measures
  • Complete package in modular design
  • Permanently root-proof and moisture-proof
  • High cost-effectiveness due to easy, fast assembly
  • All components are environmentally friendly and can be
  • dismantledKalzip can be easily retrofitted to a natural roof with the appropriate static design (Kalzip 65/333 only)
  • After removal of the greenery, Kalzip remains as a full-fledged roof covering

Kalzip NaturDach also convinces with:

  • • Relief of the sewer system and delayed introduction of rainwater
  • Improvement of the oxygen content, the microclimate and the humidity in the building environment
  • Binding of dust and air-polluting substances, e.g. CO2
  • Thermal and mechanical protection against temperature, radiation and weather influences
  • Year-round improvement of thermal insulation and the indoor climate
  • Increased value for the building
  • Creation of ecological compensation areas as a countermeasure to the progressive soil sealing

Compensating green areas with the Kalzip® Natural roof

The water retention effect is particularly high with flat-pitched roofs. The sum of the greening measures of roof areas is the sustainable enrichment for plants, animals and people. The Kalzip Natural Roof makes a valuable contribution to rainwater management and to improving air quality.

In the case of a Kalzip natural roof with a runoff coefficient of Ψ = 0.5 (up to 5 % gradient), 50 % of the precipitation is retained by the storage capacity of the natural roof structure. According to tests at the School of Technology and Architecture in Bonn, about 33 % of the amount of precipitation is returned to the natural rainwater cycle through evaporation.
