Laying patterns:
Nowadays, parquet is often laid in a regular bond, i.e. the parquet strips are laid parallel with staggered joints. A classic laying pattern that is particularly suitable for large old building rooms is the herringbone pattern. Another conventional laying pattern is the cube pattern, in which individual parquet strips are put together to form squares. Ship's flooring parquet, in which the individual parquet strips are laid in rows, is also popular. In each row, the rods are arranged slightly offset. This creates an irregular bond that is reminiscent of the floor of a ship.
Laying methods:
Parquet can be laid in different ways. Either floating installation, in which the individual elements are connected to each other by a groove, is a good option. It is important that impact sound insulation is laid under the floating parquet floor. Another installation option is fully glued parquet. For this purpose, the subsoil must be prepared and leveled accordingly. Since the floor and substrate are firmly bonded together during full-surface bonding, it cannot work as strongly. Loud impact noise is also prevented. In the case of underfloor heating, fixed installation is also a good option.
