Each stone comes from a specific deposit. Depending on the quarry, the exact colour and material properties can vary slightly. This geological diversity makes each natural stone element unique, reflecting the beauty and versatility of nature.
Surface treatment in detail:
Aquapower®:
Aquapower® is a new type of surface treatment. The stone is processed with high water pressure up to 2,000 bar. This creates a rough look while at the same time intensifying the colour of the stone.
Hand-splitting:
The hand-split surface with the appropriate tools gives facades a noble and unique appearance. The surface treatment of the façade panels in manufactory by our stonemasons makes each stone unique in terms of feel and appearance. Depending on the incidence of light and viewing angle, the impression is different. The width of the bridge can be selected individually.
Grinded C120
The following applies to sanded surfaces: the higher the grain size of the abrasive tool used on the grinding line, the finer the surface. Coarsely ground surfaces create a uniform and brighter appearance. Finely sanded surfaces bring out colour and texture more clearly.
Flamed:
The flame from the production line's flame blaster heats the stone surface for a short time in such a way that stone particles are blasted off by expansion. The uniform flaking creates a rough-split surface that makes the crystalline structure clear. The prerequisite for the application of this surface treatment is a quartz-containing rock.
Jetblasted:
The rough-sawn surface is blasted with 300 bar water pressure.
Brushed:
The stone surface is smoothed with the help of brushes. This gives the surface a softer feel. The degree and shade can be varied by using different brushes.
There is also the possibility of combining surface treatment. For example, the combination of hand-split and aquapower is often chosen because it combines a rough feel with a more intense shade.
Technical Information
HOFMANN Naturstein has the entire range of traditional and innovative surface processing techniques. Each material is available in different surface finishes. Among other things, in Aquapower, Flamed, Sanded, Bush-Hammered, Hand-Split, Jetblasted, Plate-Blasted, Brushed or Shared.
Natural stone from HOFMANN is quarried in the company's own quarries as well as contract quarries in the form of raw blocks. The technical department implements drafts into CAD work plans. The raw blocks are used to produce ready-to-assemble workpieces using state-of-the-art CAM production systems.
