Double standing seam roofing
The double standing seam is the most common type of covering for roof pitches in the range < 25°. The fastening is done with special adhesions in the area of the upstand. They are attached to the formwork and are part of the system by double folding. The double standing seam covering is characterized by a slim profile.
The
angled standing seam is a variant of the double standing seam in which the last work step - closing to the double standing seam - is omitted. For roof coverings, there must be roof pitches > 25° (> 35° in snowy areas). The angled standing seam provides a visually stronger structuring and is mainly used in façade cladding.
Substructure
The standing seam covering requires a supporting substructure with a roof pitch of 3° to 60°. This type of substructure is also recommended for greater inclinations. It can be designed as wooden formwork, formwork made of wood-based panels, OSB boards or as a special chipboard design (cement-bonded chipboard).
Non-supporting structures can be used in the strongly inclined roof area (>60°). In this case, trapezoidal steel profiles can be used.
